Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under supervision, the Coordinator of Public Relations & Development will assist with donor relations, events, marketing, resource development, public information, education, customer service, internal communication, and cultivating potential donors.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate donor engagement activities like tours, mailings, newsletters, and small events.
- Assist in planning and executing marketing for agency programs and events.
- Maintain and enhance online presence via social media platforms.
- Implement public relations and marketing strategies using various media and content management tools.
- Use tools like WordPress, Photoshop, MS Office, Mailchimp, Canva for promotion.
- Support internal communication across departments.
- Gather and analyze data to inform marketing and fundraising efforts.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition.
- Draft and manage donor communications and track donor activity.
- Prepare media releases and agency materials for public dissemination.
- Represent the agency at community and networking events.
- Complete required training and participate in in-service sessions.
- Conduct public relations and educational activities using a vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Practice safety policies and report issues to supervisors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of experience in marketing/public relations, clerical, customer service, or retail preferred.
- Experience managing social media preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience in writing, editing, public speaking, or non-profit fundraising preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Publisher preferred.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and timely in task completion.
- Knowledge of programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Willingness to work cooperatively and complete required training.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Illinois Driver's License, and appropriate auto insurance.
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds, sit/stand for long periods, and perform physical activities as required.
- Correctable vision to 20/20, adequate hearing, and flexibility in schedule.
