In order to be considered for this role, after clicking "Apply Now" above and being redirected, you must fully complete the application process on the follow-up screen.OverviewUnder general supervision the Audio/Visual Tech assists in performing responsible technical work within the Audio Visual department; operates technical media equipment for events and performances at OPCC.This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.00Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.ResponsibilitiesSets up, operate and tear down all in-house equipment and rented or client provided audio-visual equipmentPerforms both preventive and corrective maintenance to all in-house Audio Visual servicesConsults with clients regarding Media ServicesTrouble-shoots Media Services sound and lightingWork a flexible work schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidaysOperational characteristics of media equipment usage and applicationsTechnical requirement, methods, equipment, materials, and or other systems as they apply to facility events including, but not limited to: principles of event staging and performance equipment, lighting and sound equipment, rigging safety, and audio visual equipmentRecognize audio visual related challenges, analyze and identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives.QualificationsHigh school diploma and one year experience in audio visual and technical media coordination and operation, preferably in a convention, theater, arena or hotelPossession of, or ability to obtain a valid Kansas or Missouri driver's license or identification card
