The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking applications for an Instructor of Creative Arts Therapy. The Instructor of Creative Arts Therapy will be responsible for teaching courses in the undergraduate Creative Arts Therapy Program, student advisement, facilitating on- and off-campus workshops and experiential learning opportunities, curating the Art Therapy gallery and annual student show, and supervising on-campus internships and capstone projects. This is a part-time faculty position. The Instructor of Creative Arts Therapy will possess the credentials to teach a wide range of creative art therapy courses while serving as the Undergraduate Creative Arts Therapy Coordinator. West Liberty Faculty should have a commitment to excellent teaching and service, including participation in student advising, recruitment and retention.
Essential Functions of the position:
- Teach Creative Arts Therapy courses in area(s) of expertise.
- Work with program development while maintaining flexibility and collaboration with administration and other programs.
- Participate in student, program, and University assessment efforts.
- Remain active as an Academic professional and seek scholarly/research activity.
- Participate in department, college, and university faculty meetings, as well as committees, convocations, commencement activities and faculty workshops.
- Master's Degree in directly related field required.
- Doctorate's Degree in directly related field preferred.
- At least two years' experience teaching at the university level and curriculum development preferred.
- At least five years' experience as an art therapist in a clinical setting preferred.
- National Certification in Art Therapy; Creative Arts Therapy, or Board-Certification is preferred.

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date:
A faculty member is expected to participate in continuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
