Mills James is seeking a Video Specialist - Live Events to join our Experience Group (MJx) in Columbus, Ohio. This position plays a key role in designing and delivering exceptional audiovisual experiences for corporate and live business events. You will combine creative and technical expertise in video production with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and client satisfaction.
This is a hands-on role requiring extensive knowledge of live event video systems, including projection, switching, camera operation, and playback. You will also provide on-site leadership and support for events, ensuring flawless execution and a high level of service.

Key Responsibilities

•Direct the video component of live events, including camera operation, switcher programming, playback coordination, and directing camera crews
•Collaborate with Producers, Production Managers, and clients to achieve creative goals
•Attend pre-production and planning meetings as needed
•Manage video equipment preparation, installation, and operation for events
•Troubleshoot video systems on-site to ensure uninterrupted performance
•Supervise and coordinate crews of 2 to 10 team members, including freelancers and vendors
•Assist with equipment inventory, pulling, scanning, packing, and return
•Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and Specialist Manager to maintain equipment readiness
•Evaluate freelance personnel and provide feedback on performance
•Ensure compliance with company safety policies and event site protocols
•Support logistics and rental coordination for additional video resources
•Travel to off-site locations, both in and out of state, as required

Required Qualifications
•Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience with live event video production
•Minimum of two (2) years of experience with hands-on execution of:
o Projection alignment and blending
o Live switching and camera direction
o Engineering and video signal flow
o Media playback and recording systems
o Experience programming and installing LED walls is a plus

•Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for video equipment
•Experience supervising technical crews and working collaboratively under pressure
•Proficiency in using or willingness to learn Mills James' Media Pulse facilities management software
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, producers, venue managers, and event planners
•Willingness and availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed
•Must be able to travel approximately 60% of the time, including overnight stays
•Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain CDL, U.S. Passport, or medical clearance if necessary

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
•This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
•Must be able to work in environments that may include loud audio, bright lights, and limited visibility
•Extended periods of time using computer and video equipment may be required
