Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce operational efficiency.

Position Summary

The Creative Arts Therapist will provide clinical support as part of the inter-disciplinary team to efficiently deliver patient care, advocate for patient/family rights, and identify opportunities for expression through modalities including art and music therapy. The therapist will communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified LCAT preferred, limited permit eligible working toward supervision hours
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience with the population served
  • Ability to assess human development levels and provide creative arts interventions
  • Collaborative team working skills

Responsibilities

  1. Assess needs of patients and families
  2. Develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team
  3. Provide creative arts therapeutic interventions
  4. Support families
  5. Facilitate expression and coping outlets like music and art making
  6. Provide non-pharmacological pain management techniques
  7. Precept and supervise students (once licensed)
  8. Maintain infection prevention protocols
  9. Operate necessary equipment and devices
  10. Collaborate with other programs for optimal patient experience

Education

Master's Degree in creative arts therapies is required.
