You're helping Discord build safer developer-facing tools—like their public API and SDKs—by embedding safety and trust directly into the design. This role is about
proactive safety
and
policy development , not just reactive enforcement. It combines
policy expertise ,
tech understanding , and
cross-functional collaboration
with product, legal, compliance, and engineering teams. Collaborate with teams to
identify and mitigate safety risks
in Discord’s
developer tools
(API, SDKs, third-party integrations). Own and evolve
Developer Policies
that govern how external devs can use Discord’s platform. Evaluate product changes with Safety XFN to ensure policy alignment and enforcement is viable. Develop
training materials ,
internal safety strategy guides , and user-facing content (blog posts, Help Center articles). Maintain a working knowledge of Discord’s tools, infrastructure, developer ecosystem, and moderation mechanisms. Heads up:

exposure to graphic or sensitive content , typical in Trust & Safety domains.
You’ll Thrive Here If You Have:
3+ years
working with APIs, SDKs, app stores, or other third-party platforms. Background in
Trust & Safety ,
Tech Policy , or advocacy (especially for
marginalized communities ). Experience engaging cross-functionally with
Product, Legal, Engineering , and more. Strong writing skills, both
internal-facing
(guides, playbooks) and
user-facing
(blog posts, policies). A mindset of
empathy, collaboration, and curiosity . Some programming knowledge (e.g., REST APIs, basic scripting) Familiarity with Discord’s platform and community Experience in international safety policy or
multilingual
capabilities Work in
non-profits or community advocacy groups Understanding of safety issues in open platforms and ecosystems Why This Role Matters
