The Role
We’re looking for a versatile, high-performance Video Editor and Digital Designer who specializes in building paid social ads that convert. This contractor will produce video and static content for Thrive Market’s acquisition campaigns across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Snap. The role requires editing compelling videos, designing static ads, and ideally writing ad copy that drives clicks and conversions. You’ll collaborate with strategists, marketers, and creatives to transform raw footage into high-impact ad creative.

Responsibilities

  • Edit video ads for paid social with a direct-response focus: strong hooks, fast pacing, emotional payoff, clear CTAs, and platform-native style.
  • Design static ads and graphics for Meta, TikTok, Snap, and YouTube using best practices.
  • Translate briefs into performance-driven creative, combining strategy, storytelling, and aesthetics.
  • Edit influencer and UGC footage into polished, high-converting ads while maintaining authenticity.
  • Create ad variants for testing: versioning, iterating, and scaling top performers.
  • Collaborate to ensure creative aligns with brand voice, audience insights, and goals.
  • Suggest new formats, editing structures, and ad concepts based on platform trends and data.
  • Manage multiple assets and deadlines efficiently, maintaining high quality.
  • Develop on-screen text, headlines, and scripts optimized for platform and brand voice.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience editing paid social ads and designing high-performing static ads for DTC, subscription, or high-growth brands.
  • Proven experience creating ads for Meta (FB/IG), TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Snap.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating direct-response video and static creative with measurable results.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, digital design, and conversion psychology.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in Adobe Premiere (After Effects a plus) and Adobe Photoshop, including light retouching.
  • Ability to contribute to light copywriting and messaging.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to handle tight deadlines and multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and strategic thinking.
  • Fluent in platform-native content creation across TikTok, Meta, Snap, and YouTube.
  • Experience editing influencer and UGC footage into high-converting ads.
  • Creative, organized, and detail-oriented.

Contract Details

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week contract position.
  • Compensation: $35-$50/hr.
