Job Type: Part Time; On-Campus

Salary: Starting at $11.00 per hour
Days/Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours per week during the academic year.
Job Description:
The Studio Arts and Craft Centre consists of 5 main areas – photography, jewelry and metals, printmaking, ceramics, and fibers. Each area has a Lead that is responsible for the general maintenance and overall management of their respective area. Each Studio Lead works Studio Assistant shifts. Studio Assistants work at the front desk and assist studio members.
Qualifications
Must enjoy working with people
Must have a working knowledge of all of the areas in the studio and be willing to learn more
Must be willing to work SACC Special Events
Must be dedicated to the SACC mission
Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
Strong knowledge of both the analog and digital sides of photography, including but not limited to: chemicals for developing and printing in the darkroom, and Epson devices, like Inkjet printers and scanners
Help all studio members as they use the studio space and equipment
Keep the studio space and equipment clean
Have awareness of the SACC programs and special events
Adhere to the University of Wisconsin System employment policies and procedures
The Photography Technician Responsibilities
Maintaining the Photo area and equipment
Having open communication with the Program and Operations Managers
Planning and instructing some of the offered classes and workshops in the Photo Area
Giving general instruction and demonstrations for Photo Area Special Events
Researching and recommending purchases needed to further improve the Photo Area
All staff must attend regular SACC staff meetings (staff meetings are set at the beginning of each semester to accommodate student’s class schedules).
*This position is open to UW-Milwaukee students with a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA.
