Brasco is hiring a PR and Communications Specialist. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented public relations and strategic communications professional to join our team and support a variety of client initiatives across public relations, content, social media, strategic brand messaging, campaigns, and event execution. This role requires a strategic and creative thinker, a strong communicator with a passion for brand storytelling, community engagement and an execution mindset. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and eager to contribute to both strategy and execution efforts that make an impact.

This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines, including PR/media relations, brand messaging, content and copywriting, organic social media campaigns, creative campaign development, and event/sponsorship support. You’ll work closely with internal teams and client partners to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives, with a strong focus on organization, communication, and results.

This position is based in our main office in Raleigh, NC, with the expectation to be available in office for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Public Relations (PR) & Media Relations

  • Assist in crafting press releases, developing angles for stories, making media pitches, and editorial content;
  • Identifying PR opportunities, establishing and maintaining media contacts and relationships, and providing support for both clients and media to deliver on expectations for both;
  • Research and develop media lists, maintaining strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry professionals.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile reports on campaign effectiveness.
  • Support the execution of media outreach strategies, securing press opportunities for clients.

Social Media Management

  • Develop and schedule strategic organic content for clients’ social media platforms, ensuring consistent voice and messaging.
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and identify opportunities for community growth.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize content strategy and report key insights.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to enhance campaigns, as well as present and lead social strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with our Brasco /// team or photo/video contractors to develop interesting and engaging social content.

Strategic Marketing, Event, & Campaign Execution

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans that align with client objectives.
  • Support the planning and execution of events, sponsorship activations, and brand collaborations.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for brand positioning.
  • Work with the creative team to ensure brand consistency across all communications.

Content Development & Brand Storytelling

  • Support in brand development with core messaging, storybrand style messaging, and brand messaging platform needs;
  • Assist in developing compelling strategic content for brand and marketing campaigns, including various forms of content, articles, website content,, case studies, email marketing copy, and newsletters.
  • Repurpose PR and social media content for multi-channel distribution.
  • Collaborate with designers and video teams to create engaging multimedia content.

Event & Sponsorship Support

  • Help identify and manage sponsorship opportunities, ensuring sponsor commitments are met and post-event reports are delivered
  • Attend networking events and engage with sponsors to ensure they have a seamless experience at events

Project & Client Support

  • Provide day-to-day support for client accounts, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are on track.
  • Maintain organized documentation, content calendars, and reporting dashboards.
  • Participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions, and strategy development discussions.
  • Work closely with account managers, designers, and developers to deliver integrated marketing efforts
  • Communicate clearly and proactively to keep projects on track
  • Contribute to strategy conversations and offer input on best practices

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations and marketing, preferably within an agency environment
  • Ideal candidate for this role is a strong writer with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to bring a balance of creativity and strategic thinking, allowing candidate to generate innovative ideas while keeping broader business goals in focus
  • Proactive, get-it-done attitude, resourceful, and self-motivated
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments where initiative and follow-through are essential
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Skills

  • Experience working with Meltwater *preferred
  • Experience managing various social media platforms for clients – LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, etc
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling experience
  • Attention to Detail: Able to deliver clean, accurate work without needing constant oversight.
  • Collaborative: Works well across teams and communicates clearly
