Reporting directly to the Senior Demand Planning Manager, the Demand Planner ensures that our inventory levels are optimized to meet customer service standards, maintain appropriate in-stock rates, and manage months of supply efficiently. This pivotal role involves developing and managing demand and forecasting plans for all assigned SKUs. Additionally, the Demand Planner will leverage planning software to create statistical forecasts that project future customer orders across many different channels (Retail stores, 3 rd Party Showrooms, Ecommerce, B2B, and Private Label).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create forecast models using historical data and various casual factors to predict future demand accurately
  • Evaluate impact of promotional strategy, new item launches, technology innovations, new/expiring customer contracts, and expanding/contracting sales channels on statistical forecasts
  • Understand the dynamics of the brand, including seasonality, competitive activity, marketplace trends, promotional plans, sales targets, sales initiatives and life cycle plans
  • SIOP contributor and owner of assigned Brand Collections and relevant SKU’s. Collaborate cross-functionally across Sales, New Product Development, Design, Finance and others
  • Evaluate the consumption plan and the financial plan to make recommendations to business stakeholders and reconcile with supply chain operations on supply preparedness
  • Work with Design and New Product Development teams in determining new SKU forecasts, providing first year sales estimates based on comparable SKUs and historical sales patterns
  • Strong understanding of master data management and ability to manage multi-level forecasts of a wide variety of SKU’s (components, WIP, finished goods, kits, etc.)
  • Take initiative and able to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices and new technologies to enhance forecast accuracy and the demand management process
  • Provide input to assortment and SKU rationalization meetings
  • Understanding KPI’s, improve and maintain department and company goals
  • Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience working in supply chain, finance, or similar analytical role. Experience in retail, manufacturing, or distribution planning preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a school accredited by the U.S. Department of Education with specialization in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Statistics, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications in CPIM or CSCP is a plus.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for this role
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with various forecasting and statistical models is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills required.
  • Proficient in computer and software skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings and/or lighting industry a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone.

Compensation Range: $82,000 - $93,000
