Senior Project Architect for Hospitality Design Firm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The Job Captain is responsible for collaborating with the Senior Designer and Project Manager in design detailing and documentation of projects. The role involves working through all design phases, with a focus on Design Development and Construction Document phases. Responsibilities include drawing set production, computer modeling, renderings, and production management. Independently draft and assemble construction documents efficiently and accurately. Understand details, create hand sketches, and work out fine details for drawings. Review construction documents to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical and building systems, codes, and ADA requirements. Coordinate with consultants to ensure design compliance and timely document submissions. Engage effectively with team members and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and successful project delivery. Contribute to project design and development efforts. Respond to RFIs and submittals, coordinating during the construction phase. Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work products. Coordinate daily interactions with clients. Mentor junior and intermediate staff to develop their understanding and execution of full drawing sets. Manage multiple projects concurrently. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited university. Architectural license or NCIDQ, CCIDC, NCARB, or similar in-process credentials are desirable but not required. 5-7+ years of extensive experience in all phases of architectural design, including complex project planning and interior design, with experience in engineering technology, materials, and construction methods. Experience in high-end restaurant, hospitality, or residential projects is a plus. Skills and Abilities: Excellent drafting and detailing skills; proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively within deadlines and budgets. Flexible and capable of multitasking.
