Position Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Production Manager, this position supports complex audio and lighting requirements in a live arts environment. It is a .75 FTE, nine-month role scheduled from September through May, working at least 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: Associates degree or equivalent, with three years in technical production of the performing arts.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency with ETC lighting consoles, theatrical and concert lighting, carpentry, video, and audio equipment; ability to train staff; familiarity with software like Microsoft Office, Google, and others; membership in IATSE required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, five years of experience, proficiency with Lightwright, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, wireless systems, Dante, Logic, and networking experience.
Responsibilities
- Sound/Audio Support: Design and operate sound systems for rehearsals and performances, including microphones, speakers, and recording systems.
- Lighting Support: Design and operate lighting consoles, hang and focus lighting equipment, and create lighting looks.
- Video Support: Install and operate video equipment, perform basic editing, and support live streaming and media presentations.
- Carpentry/Repair/Maintenance: Assist with scenery, staging, equipment maintenance, and ensure safety protocols.
- Training/Coaching/Safety: Oversee student and union crews, ensure safety practices, and provide instruction as needed.
Additional duties include supporting diverse team interactions, performing other tasks as assigned, and demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
