Hybrid: on-site 2 days/week (HDQ - Vienna, VA or GPO Pensacola, FL)


A Technical Writer develops and maintains technical documentation, manuals, and guides to help end-users and IT teams understand technical processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Compiling information requirements, objectives, functions, and features by gathering technical information, preparing written content, and organizing the layout of manuals.
  • Demonstrating high-level skills in Information Architecture and evaluating organizational structure to improve content management.
  • Interviewing analysts, engineers, and staff to obtain workflow, processes, or other technical information.
  • Researching, analyzing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation such as user guides, API documentation, system/data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Planning, designing, developing, and implementing technical controls, procedures, and policies related to compliance, risk, governance, and regulatory standards, with a strong knowledge of platform capabilities, data governance, and operating systems within the technology and analytics domain.
  • Capturing and translating technical processes and requirements into understandable terms.
  • Understanding software development life cycles (SDLC), COBIT, or ITIL frameworks.
  • Editing and proofreading with high proficiency in grammar, style, and consistency.
  • Having technical acumen, including understanding software development processes, data analytics practices, and methodologies.
