Visual Design Technician Job at Byrne and Jones Construction in St Louis

Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Visual Design Technician to support our Sports Division. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and visual development of athletic facilities across the Midwest. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in CAD and design software, with the ability to turn ideas into accurate, compelling renderings and construction-ready documents.

You'll collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and our sales team to produce high-quality design packages that support both business development and field execution. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about design, sports construction, and bringing innovative ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create accurate and visually compelling 2D and 3D color renderings for athletic facilities.
• Develop site plans and design deliverables to support business development and estimating teams.
• Draft and prepare construction layout documents for use by field and project management staff.
• Collaborate with internal teams to review design intent, incorporate feedback, and ensure accuracy.
• Ensure all visual materials meet client expectations, brand standards, and project requirements.
• Stay current with industry best practices and innovations in sports facility design.
• Participate in project and departmental meetings to align on design goals and timelines.
• Maintain a high standard of quality, detail, and accuracy in all visual documentation.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Revit, and Trimble design software.
• Experience with Enscape or similar rendering software preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related design or drafting field is preferred.
• Experience in civil or architectural design, especially related to sports or recreational facilities, is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong drafting, rendering, and layout capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply design criteria, specifications, and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Basic understanding of construction methods and terminology, particularly for site and civil work.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for extended periods working at a computer.
• Occasional travel to job sites or field locations may be required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
