Graduate degree or other advanced education in instructional and/or assistive technology preferred.
At least 4 years of full-time experience as classroom teacher preferred.
Experience with professional development and educating teachers in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity preferred.
At least 2 years experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for PreK – 8th grade students preferred.
Knowledge of the process and strategies used in implementing instructional technology.
Knowledge of new computer, video, communication, web-based technologies, curriculum design, and working knowledge of instruction design and assessments.
The ability to effectively educate/mentor technology users.
The ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
The ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding technology.

Articulates appropriate instructional technology practices as described in technology standards for students, and teachers.
Provides assistance and training to building instructional staff in the integration of technology to support student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups.
Collaborates in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials and software.
Assists with technology training as part of collaborative school district staff development initiatives.
Works with curriculum staff to develop and implement technology enhanced curriculum integration projects.
Provides leadership in developing and implementing technology plans and serves on the building technology committee (s).
Collaborates with School Administrators, Library Media Specialists, and staff, to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school and technology initiatives.
Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision-making.
Coordinates technology related grant projects, community outreach projects and fund raisers.
Assist with district wide computer based assessments.
Attends yearly required training to maintain Public School Library standing from the State of Illinois.
Utilizes current research and methods in areas of reading technology, teaching, learning, and library and information science.
Collaborates with other teachers to integrate research, information retrieval skills, and literature appreciation into the curriculum.
Uses a variety of materials and activities to stimulate and maximize learning to help students achieve educational and personal goals.
Maintains an attractive and inviting physical environment, which allows for enriched learning experiences and intellectual growth.
Creates and maintains a collection development process, which includes such aspects as maintaining accurate and current catalogs and records, weeding, and inventories.
Provides access to materials and information for both students and staff by adhering to established policies, laws, (including copyright laws), principles of intellectual freedom, and ethical behavior.
Selects and provides resources and technologies needed to integrate and produce authentic learning experiences.

Technology Integration/Library Information Specialist
Job Summary
The technology integration specialist promotes the use of technologies to support student achievement in pre-K through 8th grade classrooms as well as ensures maximum, efficient, and effective use of available technology resources district wide. This specialist collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, and optimize the use of instructional software and network resources to promote quality teaching and learning while strengthening the technology skills of all students and staff.
The Library information specialist ensures that students are effective users of information and ideas by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats, and by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas.
Employment Term - 190 days
Qualifications:

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the local board of education’s policy on evaluation of licensed staff and the master contract.
Terms of Employment
Salary and work year according to the district’s master contract agreement. 190 day contract.
