Job Title: Work Study-Library Circulation Desk Student Worker-Fall 2025

Department: Library General Operations

Location: Alpine, TX

Salary: $9.50 Hourly

Appointment Date: Not specified

End Date: Until Filled

Primary Responsibilities:

The Library Circulation Desk Student Worker will be responsible for a variety of customer service intensive tasks, including:

• Assisting library patrons (all ages) with informational and computer help.
• Shelving materials.
• Answering the telephone.
• Stacks maintenance.
• Cash handling.
• Checking in and out library materials.
• Daily and weekly cleaning duties.
• Building security.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the Dewey decimal system, alphabetization, and change making.
• Passing a proficiency quiz upon verification of work-study funding (100% score required for interview eligibility).
• Work-study eligibility.
• Ability to work M-Th 8-9 pm, F 8-5 pm, Sunday 12-9 pm.
• Following the library dress code.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
