Description of Work:
The essential function of the position within the Sixth Judicial Circuit is to stenographically report court proceedings and produce transcripts on a timely basis. The position is responsible for reporting court proceedings, performing research, proofreading, and editing reported proceedings to produce quality transcripts. The employee must have the ability to report testimony at industry-standard speed and accuracy, operate a stenographic machine, read back testimony in open court, and meet deadlines for producing transcripts. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Education:
Successful completion of a Court Reporting Program is required.
Experience:
Experience in the freelance field, court system, or a combination thereof. Eclipse software and Eclipse support, Stenograph Luminex II machine, and related equipment are provided.
Certification, License, and Special Requirements:
Requires a valid certificate as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or higher, e.g., Certified Real Time Reporter. Non-RPR candidates may be considered for Court Reporter I, with salary based on the minimum for this classification.

$6,102.73 + CAD $160.17 = $6,262.90 monthly / $75,154.80 annually plus state benefits.
