Base Pay This role has a minimum base pay from $17.30 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience. Purpose Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Senior Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all that is required for their project, and build a creative design concept that incorporates the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years Prior retail/sales experience preferred Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Proficient in basic mathematical skills Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position Essential Functions Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy and timeliness Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation Support company initiatives and coach best practices with store employees Engage in current and emerging design trends Utilize design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary scheduling tools Participate in professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Limited travel may be required Exposure to warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise levels Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium Work – exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, with ability to handle objects and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
