Position Information

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Media, Art & Design Technology, or a closely related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Proven experience supporting Mac hardware and operating systems
  • Experience with digital media tools and creative software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, 3D printing software)
  • Ability to administer and maintain a student laptop/equipment checkout program, including inventory tracking, loan policies, and basic hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Ability to manage and maintain digital fabrication tools and photography darkroom to OSHA safety standards and MSDS safety sheets
  • Ability to hire, train, supervise, and schedule work-study and student workers, and one lab assistant
  • Willingness to work with and assist students and faculty with varying levels of tech literacy

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing technology within an academic, creative, or studio-based environment
  • Working knowledge of print systems, including large-format and specialty printers like risograph
  • Working knowledge of AV equipment setup and maintenance (projectors, cameras, sound systems)
  • Familiarity, interest, and willingness to learn new hardware, software, and fabrication technologies such as 3D printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, VR/AR programs

The Art and Design Technology Coordinator supports the department’s creative and academic mission by overseeing technical operations across studios, labs, and fabrication spaces, ensuring safe, effective, and innovative use of technology, managing equipment checkout programs, supervising student workers, and assisting faculty and students with technical needs.
