Summary Objective: The Jiu-Jitsu Coach will design and lead structured Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi Grappling classes with an emphasis on fundamentals, live drilling, and supervised rolling. In addition, the coach will deliver diverse workouts - including boxing, kickboxing, HITT, and technical conditioning - for clients of all experience levels. Working closely with STRIKE coaching team and leadership, the coach will help grow the program by recruiting and retaining clients. The role requires creating a safe, engaging, and results-driven environment that supports members in achieving their fitness and martial arts goals.

- Create safe and effective programs
- Develop technical lesson plans and scale across beginner to advanced athletes
- Assist in competition prep and belt progression for members (where applicable)
- Forster a safe, inclusive, and growth-focused mat environment
- Execute programs for a wide variety of members
- Keep accurate and detailed records of program progress
- Maintain and record schedule accurately
- Keep current personal schedule and availability on file with the BPSD
- Be available to members before and after class
- Represent the club, staff, and company in a positive manner at all times
- Maintain class statistics and records as directed
- Track time and follow payroll procedures
- Follow substitution policies and minimize use of subs
- Attend all mandatory department and club meetings and trainings
- Help grow class attendance and build community engagement
- Maintain required certifications and complete continuing education to remain current with industry standards
- Replace equipment and organize studio after class to prepare for upcoming classes and maintain club cleanliness according to company standards
- Report safety issues or injuries to Group Fitness Director or General Manager
- Report any equipment or studio issues to Group Fitness Director or General Manager
- Understand and follow employee standards of conduct and ethics
- Understand and uphold club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures
- Complete all in-house training as assigned
- Work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary
- Assume other duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to motivate and nurture others
- Demonstrated selling skills
- Strong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
- Outwardly facing professional appearance
- Confidence and desire to create new relationships quickly
- Ability to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge and skills
- Purple Belt or higher in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- Competitive experience in BJJ / Gi and/or No-Gi tournaments
- Boxing, Muay Thai or MMA background preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification required
- Personal training or certifications & group fitness certs preferred
