Overview
We are seeking a Recording Studio System Consultant to join our team supporting United States Senate, Washington, DC.
This program provides comprehensive services for Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), supporting roughly 12,000 users at the U.S. Senate. The program covers the acquisition, delivery, configuration, integration, and upgrade of IT products, along with installation and on-site maintenance, including help desk services. Additional support includes hardware delivery, moves, upgrades in state offices, and technical assistance for systems, ensuring efficient, secure, and up-to-date IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a wide range of IT support services in the field of radio and television broadcasting to the recording studio.
- Provide primary support for IT systems in the recording studio offices and in the Executive office.
- Act as liaison for the SAA.
- Have experience with and understand the uniqueness of the Senate office environment.
- Research, evaluate, test, and make recommendations of new technologies to the Senate on an ongoing basis. Once an acquisition has been made, develop an implementation plan installing, configuring, and testing equipment; training staff; and updating documentation.
- Develop and provide training programs to include hardware/software troubleshooting diagnostics for staff members’ respective systems and equipment.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs and backup/redundancy systems to ensure that the recording studio has uninterrupted operations.
- Research, evaluate, test, and make recommendations of new technology on an ongoing basis. Responsible for developing an implementation plan; installing, configuring, and testing equipment; training staff; and updating the documentation.
- Support all aspects of the operations, including computer support in relation to coverage on the Senate floor; and the Senate’s recording studios, audio studios, video tape rooms, closed captioning rooms, graphics shop, scheduling and billing systems, streaming audio/video servers, and web server.
- Support the network engineering, systems integration, graphics, office automation support, hardware/software troubleshooting, interface with application vendors, systems analysis/programming, and web development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as computer science, information technology, or business administration) is required.
- Experience and technical skills in Apple environments and Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Mac OS clients, MS Exchange, MS Office, HP hardware, and Network Communications.
- Must be able to effectively teach concepts to customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Able to successfully multitask multiple issues.
- Previous experience at the Senate is a plus.
- Able to pass Capitol Police Background Check.
