Rockstar Games is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer focused on the "front of the frontend" to join our online development team. The role requires a strong understanding of building modern, accessible, and responsive frontends using best practices. Responsibilities include implementing animations, optimizations, and automated testing in close collaboration with designers and engineers.

With upcoming projects like Grand Theft Auto VI, the successful candidate will work with cutting-edge technology alongside an internationally established team, demonstrating attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.

We seek someone passionate about gaming, eager for new challenges, and committed to creating world-class games.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at Rockstar’s studio in Andover, MA.

What We Do

  • Create connected experiences across our game franchises.
  • Develop and maintain high-impact features supporting Rockstar community and websites.
  • Innovate in-game experiences, including user-generated content.
  • Build services and tools for consumer-facing and internal needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accessible front-end components and applications using React.
  • Translate designs and specifications into scalable, interactive web content for large audiences.
  • Optimize web performance.
  • Collaborate with Rockstar technology teams worldwide.

Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or 5+ years of professional web development experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with React.

Skills

  • Expertise in accessible web development with React and CSS.
  • Strong communication skills for working within an international team.
  • Experience with automated testing and source control (preferably Git).
  • Knowledge of Agile development processes and best practices.
  • Passion for web technologies and continuous learning.

Pluses

  • Experience with high-traffic responsive websites and applications.
  • Knowledge of WebGL, Canvas, media optimization, and mobile video delivery.
  • Familiarity with Rockstar’s games and passion for gaming.
