FOX News Channel is hiring: Assignment Editor in Tampa

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), with duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. These stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging demand from viewers, distributors, and advertisers for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ASSIGNMENT EDITOR: (Full Time Regular): Fox13, Tampa’s leading news station, is expanding its reach from Linear TV to Streaming Platforms. We are seeking a multi-talented Assignment Editor to join our popular Good Day Tampa Bay team, which owns the morning hours. This role involves reporting breaking news, coordinating live feature segments, and developing content across platforms, including streaming initiatives.

Who we want:

• Someone with solid editorial judgment, strong organizational skills, and creativity
• Digitally savvy, capable of creating content for online and social platforms
• Willing to work in the newsroom, collaborating with reporters, photographers, producers, and digital team members
• Ability to build relationships with community contacts, public information officers, and news sources
• Experience with tuning satellite and bonded cellular signals is a plus
• Experience as an assignment editor or digital content producer in a news environment is highly preferred

Qualified candidates must be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Pursuant to pay disclosure laws, the salary range for this role is $60,000 to $72,000 annually, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. The role offers benefits such as medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits as per plan documents. Union employees will receive benefits according to the collective bargaining agreement.
