Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Royalty Audit Manager, Music to join our team of dedicated professionals. This position can be based out of Nashville on a hybrid basis. The Royalty Audit Manager, Music is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the royalty audit lifecycle for all assigned clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervision of assigned Royalty Analysts and Senior Royalty Analysts
  • Oversee complex examinations and valuations of record companies, music publishers, merchandising companies, and other licensees of intellectual property
  • Analyze audit reports to check for accuracy
  • Assist in audit settlement negotiations
  • Review of contract and licenses
  • Prepare complex analytical reports
  • Conduct fieldwork at auditees offices
  • Track progress of audit program
  • Correspond with clients, client representatives and auditee representatives
  • Assist Managing Directors in identifying and onboarding prospective clients
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in a similar role is required; 8+ years of experience is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and formulas (such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF) – bonus points for experience with Power Pivot and Power Query
  • Experience and education in the music business, particularly music royalties and music royalty audits
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a trusting relationship with staff and clients
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented analytical thinker
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and reading comprehension
  • Understanding of basic mathematical and accounting principles
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Eager to learn new skills and concepts
  • Desire to help creative artists

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $85,000 - $129,000. Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and skills. Compensation may include bonuses and benefits. Falsification of application information may be grounds for denial of employment.
