Position Summary

The Student Equipment Manager provides technical support to students, faculty, and staff: maintains equipment inventory, ensures devices are available and in good working order, assists with audiovisual equipment in classrooms, and more. The Student Equipment Manager reports to the Senior Instructor.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Assist with equipment inventory, check-in, & check-out.
  • Assist with classroom technology needs.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and IT support personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with various production and classroom hardware components, operating systems, and software programs standard to academic settings, such as Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office 365.
  • Attention to detail in documentation, technical tasks, and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of media production equipment.
  • Understanding and adhering to university policies and procedures related to technology use and security.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • The employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA .
Required Education

Current UIW Communication Arts Graduate Student.

Required Work Experience

  • Experience with production equipment.
  • Experience in IOS operating system.
  • Experience may have been obtained through employment or coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in video production and student-run media.
  • Experience in information technology (IT).

None.

Work Hours

Ability to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours

Physical Demands

Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 lbs. waist-high
