Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their potential; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining expertise in their field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology; maintaining professional conduct; assisting with curriculum development; serving on college committees; participating in faculty governance; and other duties as assigned.

Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, units earned, and/or related experience (initially Class V, Step 1). For details, please visit the college website.

Typical Duties

The instructional assignment may include courses such as:

• TAFILM 300 Introduction to Film
• TAFILM 302 History of Film
• TAFILM 320 Cinema Genres

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Film/Cinema and Media Studies, Film, Television, and Media Studies, Drama/Theater, Mass Communication, OR a Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields plus a Master’s in Visual Studies, Media Studies, English, or Communication. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by the time of hire.
