Manager Geographic Information Systems Manager Geographic Information Systems Thursday July 10th, 2025 Join our Growing Team Manager Geographic Information Systems Office of the Chief Operating Officer Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated Cambridge Bay, NU Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, managing, and maintaining NTIs Geographic Information System (GIS) using advanced geospatial, web-based, and database technologies. This role involves creating and maintaining GIS web pages, intranets, networks, and databases, as well as developing and enforcing data and mapping standards. You will ensure compliance with NTIs computer, software, and hardware guidelines while providing cartographic and geographic services and support. Additionally, you will supervise GIS team members, including developers and technicians, and lead the development of GIS and web mapping standards that align with NTIs strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a college diploma in Computer Programming, Geographic Information Systems, or Web Development, along with at least five years of relevant work experience. This includes three years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcCatalog), two years with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Server, and two years in database design and management. Proficiency with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems is required, as well as the ability to program in at least one language such as Visual Basic, C#, C++, AML, JavaScript, Perl, Python, ModelBuilder, or ArcGIS Arcade. Candidates should also have experience designing and coding web pages using HTML, ColdFusion, JavaScript, ASP, or PHP. Knowledge of wildlife, marine and resource regulatory processes in Nunavut, and knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement is an asset. Spoken and written Inuktut is desirable and the willingness to learn is required. Equivalencies will be considered. Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. Starting salary between $97,448.00 to $129,993.00 (commensurate with experience) and a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
