Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop design layouts based on customer specifications, using standard and custom approaches.
  • Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and models for order release.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical assemblies and provide technical support internally and to customers.
  • Layout customer drawings for processing on lasers, punch, and press brakes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering staff to meet customer requirements.
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook for documentation, communication, and data analysis.
  • Maintain and improve the standard parts library.
  • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Manage multiple design projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical design or at least 3 years of experience in a design role.
  • Strong background in mechanical design, with experience in sheet metal and structural steel fabrication.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; experience with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with good planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, interacting at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Eagerness to learn and adhere to standards and best practices.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong professional references demonstrating reliability and a positive attitude.
