Video & Photo Journalist

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is looking for a creative and innovative videographer/photographer with newsroom experience to join our award-winning multi-media staff.

The position will be heavily focused on video — shooting original videos in the field, editing videos (yours and others), and helping colleagues produce weekly video and audio podcasts in our studio. But you will also have some opportunities to shoot still photos in the field.

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about finding and telling great stories on video, and who has a strong grasp of how to best engage audiences on our digital platforms and social media channels.Interest in occasional shortform documentaries is a plus. We want you in the community, finding stories alone or in tandem with reporters, and then bringing them to life on video.

This position is equal parts shooting and editing, so we are looking for portfolios that reflect your strengths with each. Technical knowledge of audio and video equipment and editing in Adobe Premiere are must-haves. Experience in shooting a range of subjects and working on tight deadlines is a plus. You will be supplied with Canon R3 mirrorless cameras and RF lenses for the field, Canon EOS C cameras in our dedicated studio, Rode mics, and more.
