Description and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annualized new business sales goals in target markets related to program-specific verticals.
  • Work with Practice Leader/Program Executive to declare a primary industry specialization.
  • Retain at least 92% of business year over year with assistance from leadership and account management staff.
  • Maintain a list of prospective COI and lead sources within target groups.
  • Research prospects, develop customized messaging, and generate new business leads.
  • Develop and execute sales business plans, prospect effectively, and overcome sales obstacles.
  • Support cross-selling strategies to enhance relationships.
  • Explain our competitive differentiation and solutions clearly.
  • Innovate for clients using market knowledge and technical insurance understanding.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Use USI’s contact management and sales automation tools effectively.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Underwriters, and service teams.
  • Engage in professional development and training.
  • Represent USI positively in various forums.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of competitors.
  • Attend and participate in USI training and sales support programs.
  • May oversee the work of others.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • 3+ years in insurance or related sales, with a successful sales track record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Hold or obtain Property & Casualty and/or relevant business licenses.
  • Experience with CRM and sales cycle software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Personable, motivated, goal-oriented, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Understanding of Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Positive, resourceful, and consultative approach.
  • Excellent listening skills and customer focus.
  • Ability to interact with senior management and maintain executive presence.
  • Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
