About The Role
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, tech-forward environments? We’re looking for an experienced AV Lead Technician to take the reins on audiovisual integration projects—from installation and configuration to commissioning and client handoff. In this role, you won’t just lead installs—you’ll set the standard for quality, safety, and professionalism on every job site.
As the go-to expert on-site, you’ll guide technicians, manage scope and workflow, and collaborate closely with the Foreman and Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and above expectations. Whether it’s mounting displays, pulling cable, or fine-tuning AV systems, your work will shape the client experience—and the success of every project.
What You’ll Do – Build with Purpose. Lead with Confidence.
- Own the Process: Oversee AV system installations from start to finish—including pulling cable, installing hardware, and commissioning systems.
- Lead the Crew: Supervise 2–8 technicians and subcontractors across projects, setting clear expectations and coaching best practices on-site.
- Interpret and Execute: Read AV system drawings, schematics, and construction plans to guide efficient and high-quality installations.
- Train and Support: Provide hands-on training to technicians, sharing your expertise in audio/video integration, network setup, and system testing.
- Solve in Real Time: Diagnose issues logically and efficiently, using your technical know-how to resolve problems on the spot.
- Communicate Proactively: Keep the team and clients updated on job progress, timelines, and issues—ensuring transparency and trust.
- Document and Track: Maintain accurate reports, site logs, and task assignments using Smartsheet and other tools.
- Promote Safety and Professionalism: Uphold OSHA 30 standards and model respectful, safe, and organized job site behavior at all times.
- 3–5 years of experience leading large-scale audiovisual integration projects.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, displays, projectors, control systems, and rack installations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead technicians across various sites.
- Ability to interpret cabling schedules, riser diagrams, and construction documentation.
- Experience with installation tools, test equipment, and structured wiring practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills—comfortable training teams and interfacing with clients.
- Basic understanding of AV networking and IP-based systems.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- Industry certifications a plus (CTS, Crestron, Extron, Polycom, Biamp, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and basic Smartsheet experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ownership: Lead field teams and take pride in projects that exceed expectations.
- Growth: Build your career with hands-on learning, mentorship, and industry-recognized certifications.
- Team Culture: Work with passionate professionals who respect the craft—and each other.
- Impact: Bring technology to life in boardrooms, classrooms, and workspaces across the region.
- Perks: Competitive pay, strong benefits, tools, and tech that support your success.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work at heights (ladders, lifts).
- Regular standing, bending, crawling, climbing, and using hand tools.
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, depending on the job site.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision for wiring, terminations, and component inspection.
If you’re a builder, mentor, and technician all in one—and take pride in doing the job right—we’d love to meet you. Apply today and be part of a team where your expertise makes a visible difference every day.
