Telecommunications Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Apprentice Telecom Technician will participate in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of telecommunication systems alongside a licensed Telecom Technician. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend assigned locations, including offices or project sites. Follow sketches or blueprints to install wiring and equipment, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are finished. Assist with installation of cable supports, through-floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials. Participate in data cable installations, including open wiring, conduit, and cable trays. Assist with installation of relay racks, cabinets, and network switches. Assist with installation of cable trays above and below floors. Work effectively in confined spaces. Assist with termination of data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables. Test cables to TIA/EIA Level II standards using cable analyzers. Perform routine duties as directed by workplace leadership. Maintain strict safety and quality standards. Participate in site housekeeping. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications
Skills & Experience/Requirements: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience: 0-4 years in the field, trade school, or apprenticeship. Focus on customer satisfaction. Good documentation and record-keeping skills. Prepare paperwork such as timesheets, reports, and material requests. Understand and adhere to Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Possess appropriate state certification or license. OSHA 10 certification is required. Physical Demands & Work Environment
