Basic Function
Please note: Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The district is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting salary is $66.00/hour, but may vary based on assignment type and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For more details, refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or contact your college HR office.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's in library science, or library and information science; OR - The equivalent. Candidates claiming equivalent qualifications must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCY form with supporting documents. Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administration in California Community Colleges
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Degrees from outside the U.S. must be evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service.
Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview, as screening is conducted by a committee that may limit the number of interviews.
