  • Guide students in the achievement of curriculum goals related to music education.
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Select and employ instructional methods and materials suited to available resources, class size, and subject objectives.
  • Provides instruction in marching techniques and drill performance.
  • As required, provides coaching of instrumental sections of the band.
  • Travels with the marching band to competitions and away games as designated by the marching band director.
  • Performs such other related duties as the Principal may from time to time assign.
  • Valid State of Connecticut certification(049)
  • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area
  • Bilingual
    • REPORTS TO: Principal or designee

    POSITION OVERVIEW: The Music Teacher will help foster a love for music, encourage student creativity, and support student learning across various areas of the subject, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

    TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Guide students in the achievement of curriculum goals related to music education.
    • Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students.
    • Select and employ instructional methods and materials suited to available resources, class size, and subject objectives.
    • Provides instruction in marching techniques and drill performance.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid State of Connecticut certification(049)
    • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bilingual

    SALARY: determined by professional experience and NLEA contract.
