A Day in the Life of the Marketing Manager

A typical day for the Marketing Manager at OpenWorks involves driving the execution of marketing campaigns, creating compelling content, and supporting the team's goals. You'll start by reviewing campaign performance metrics, making updates where needed, and planning new content initiatives. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure alignment on priorities, partner with colleagues on creative projects, and contribute fresh ideas that help grow the business. This role requires balancing multiple projects, adapting quickly, and staying detail-oriented while keeping the customer experience front and center.

Overview of Responsibilities
  • Develop, Execute and oversee marketing campaigns that build brand awareness, generate leads, and support customer acquisition.
  • Manage, oversee and drive results on social media platforms.
  • Develop and manage content for a variety of channels, including website, email, social media and sales collateral.
  • Optimize marketing efforts by analyzing marketing data and campaign performance metrics to identify opportunities, measure ROI, and inform decisions.
  • Oversee and optimize the customer journey with new franchisees.
  • Lead event management planning including conferences and events hosted virtually.
  • Partner with the sales team to ensure marketing activities align with sales goals and effectively support the sales process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Contribute to digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, strategy and plans.
  • Support brand development and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials.
  • Assist in managing the marketing budget and tracking expenses.
  • Stay up to date on marketing trends, tools, and best practices to bring new ideas to the team.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing roles, preferably in B2C marketing and a growth-focused environment.
  • Proven experience creating and managing content across multiple channels (e.g., blogs, social media, email campaigns, sales collateral).
  • Experience in overseeing and increasing results of social media platforms: SEO, SEM, and social media.
  • Experience developing short-form content posts, email campaigns and video
  • Results and metrics oriented; used to having measured goals and targets on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Comfort working with marketing analytics and translating data into actionable insights.
  • B2C experience with B2B a plus (Openworks has both a B2B and B2C audience).
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with sales, design, and product teams.
  • Tech savvy: Experience using CRM and marketing automation tools, ideally Hubspot, ZoomInfo, Canva and use of AI tools.
  • Takes initiative to improve how business / marketing is performed and is highly adaptable to change.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
