The Digital Content Team Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of the KSL TV and KSL NewsRadio websites. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and engaging digital content while optimizing user experience and driving audience growth.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at the company's discretion.
- This hybrid position requires working at our company sites occasionally. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs, and the employee will need to be on-site during training.
What You Will Do:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Content Management & SEO
- Manage and optimize website content, adhering to SEO best practices.
- Oversee breaking news updates for rapid and accurate publication.
- Coordinate homepage and category updates to maximize engagement.
- Enforce AP and KSL style guidelines across all content.
- Analytics and Performance Optimization
- Conduct analytics audits to inform content strategy.
- Analyze newsletter and push notification performance, implementing improvements.
- Track text message campaign effectiveness and refine strategies.
- Content Planning and Production
- Oversee local story production and website content flow, including overnight and weekend planning.
- Implement social media strategies and coordinate website clean-up efforts.
- Manage banner updates in coordination with marketing and promotions.
- Team Management & Workflow
- Manage content production systems and cross-platform collaboration.
- Assign tasks and oversee digital content team members, including scheduling.
- Ensure seamless digital content integration across platforms.
- Quality Control and Innovation
- Maintain high standards for digital content quality.
- Stay updated on digital trends and technologies to foster innovation.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field, or at least two years newsroom/editorial experience.
- Proficiency in video and audio editing across multiple platforms (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Audition, Final Cut Pro, OpusClip).
- Strong journalistic skills in storytelling, news writing, and editorial judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple digital tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in social media management.
- Effective team collaboration and independent work skills.
- Ability to handle stress and meet deadlines, including evenings and weekends.
- Professional demeanor and appearance; strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Self-motivated, organized, dependable, and able to exercise sound judgment.
