This is a contract role that can be located in Boulder or Chicago. There is a hybrid onsite expectation for this role.

Job Summary:

Join a forward-thinking team as a Design Technologist and play a pivotal role in transforming user experiences through innovative design and technology. This contract position, available in Boulder or Chicago with a hybrid onsite expectation, offers the opportunity to bridge the gap between design and engineering. You will leverage your expertise to create high-fidelity prototypes and production-ready components while utilizing AI techniques to enhance development processes. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams will be essential in ensuring that design solutions are both technically feasible and aligned with user needs.

Responsibilities:

- Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes using modern web technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS), leveraging AI-powered tools for accelerated development.

- Collaborate with designers to explore and validate new user interface patterns and interactions.

- Partner with engineering teams to ensure the technical feasibility and successful implementation of design solutions.

Skills:

- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.

- Experience working with Figma or similar design tools, translating designs into code.

- Solid understanding of component-based architecture and design systems.

- Familiarity with Git.

- Demonstrable experience or strong interest in applying AI/ML concepts to design technology, front-end development, or creative workflows.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in a Design Technologist, Front-End Developer, or similar role focused on UI development and prototyping.

- A portfolio showcasing interactive prototypes, UI components, or design system contributions, especially those that highlight your use of AI in the development process.
