Health Promotion & Outreach (50%)

  • Develop and deliver workshops, trainings, and events for students, peer educators, faculty, and staff on various wellness related topics such as stress management, mindfulness, mental health awareness, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with student organizations, residence life, athletics, and other departments to promote a culture of well-being.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant for student leaders and campus partners seeking to promote mental health on campus.
  • Help lead peer support, prevention, and wellness education initiatives, including BIPOC-focused programming and events.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive care and supporting the mental health needs of students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) students
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience providing direct clinical counseling services, preferably in a college or university setting.
  • Experience with brief/solution-focused therapy models.
  • Experience in planning and implementing wellness programs and outreach activities.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Education

  • Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related mental health field.
  • Current licensure or license-eligibility in New York State (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, or Psychologist).

  • Office located in a welcoming, student-centered counseling and health services environment.

Hours Expectation
