About the Role

Are you a compelling storyteller with a passion for shaping public perception? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy building meaningful media relationships? As the PR and Media Relations Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in strengthening our public image, supporting media relations, and promoting our transformative work in mental health, child welfare, and family support.

This is a hybrid position, with 2–3 days per week onsite at our office and the remainder remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write and distribute press releases, talking points, and media story pitches

  • Build and nurture relationships with media contacts and community influencers

  • Coordinate interviews and earned media opportunities across Missouri

  • Draft written and verbal responses to reporters and media personnel

  • Develop strategic public relations plans aligned with organizational goals

  • Support business leaders with interview prep, public speaking, and media training

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and social media strategy

  • Produce or coordinate collateral like infographics and printed materials

  • Travel up to 25% for in-person support and on-site media engagement

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or related field preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in public relations, media relations or communications

  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for relationship-building

  • Experience working with media outlets to secure coverage

  • Proficiency in leveraging social media for public relations

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
