Pay Range: $65,000 to $75,000. Compensation is dependent on skills, qualifications, experience, and location, with typical hiring at or near the range midpoint.
Job Purpose:
The Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist contributes to business growth by increasing awareness, developing networks, and providing product information to potential clients. They assist customers in selecting and funding speech-generating devices that meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research resources to develop leads and attain market growth.
- Manage territory through account maintenance, clinical and educational support, and coordination of resources to enhance customer value.
- Assist in identifying alternative communication methods for clients and support Speech and Language Pathologists in implementing strategies.
- Conduct consultations to determine appropriate AAC solutions using speech devices and software knowledge.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and in-services demonstrating product benefits to referral groups.
- Educate and assist SLPs, therapists, educators, and clients on funding processes and third-party payer requirements.
- Collaborate with the funding team on prior authorizations and case submissions to expedite claims.
- Stay informed on industry trends and participate in professional organizations to enhance sales opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 2 years of experience in AAC, assistive technology, speech-language pathology, or special education preferred.
- Experience in clinical market development or sales preferred.
- Strong skills in training and presentations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to travel within the territory.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
