Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Public Relations Techniques and/or Event Management & Planning.
- Extending learning beyond the classroom through experiential educational opportunities with community partners.
- Contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in pedagogy and community engagement.
The Public Relations Techniques course introduces students to skills used by public relations professionals, including writing for public relations, media relations, special events, and crisis management. Students gain hands-on experience preparing news releases, media kits, advertisements, collateral materials, reports, speeches, scripts, and PSAs.
Event Management & Planning is an experiential course where students practice planning and managing special events, considering the various factors involved and the expectations of participants.
Requirements:
We seek candidates with demonstrated pedagogical expertise in undergraduate education. A terminal degree and at least two years of college-level teaching experience in Public Relations are required. A PhD or ABD is preferred. Candidates with a Master's degree and substantial professional accomplishment are encouraged to apply.
Availability for late afternoon and evening teaching is preferred but not required.
