Senior Designer
to join our team supporting advanced defense and aerospace development in
Minneapolis, MN . This is a full-time, onsite contract opportunity ideal for a highly experienced mechanical designer with deep expertise in Creo 9 and complex design integration for mission-critical systems. In this role, you'll play a critical part in developing mechanical and electro-mechanical components, tools, and systems that meet rigorous military specifications and production standards. You'll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure precision, compliance, and functionality in every stage of the design process.
Required Skills & Experience: Minimum
9 years of experience
in design/drafting using
Pro-E/Creo CAD systems Associate Degree
in engineering drafting/design or equivalent combined experience Proficiency in
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
and tolerance analysis Expert-level skill in 3D modeling and file manipulation using
Creo 9
(Must Have) In-depth knowledge of
military drawings/specifications
and
MILSPEC/STD standards Familiarity with component, subsystem, and system-level design integration Strong understanding of
production methods
and
human factors engineering Experience preparing complex drawings and documentation to
military or ASME standards Ability to work
onsite only
(remote work will not be considered) Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
Model Based Definition (MBD) Prior work on
combat vehicle design
or similar complex defense systems Responsibilities:
Develop innovative mechanical/electro-mechanical concepts and designs Apply CAD methodologies to create, check, and refine drawings, schematics, and layouts Ensure all designs meet form, fit, function, and producibility requirements Interface closely with engineers to confirm compliance with contractual and system-level specs Review and validate drawings for completeness, accuracy, and standards compliance Support continuous improvement and design standardization efforts
