We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role will play a key part in supporting a major business transformation within the non-profit sector, focusing on enhancing customer journeys and building tools that improve engagement and usability. As a vital member of the design team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to create seamless, accessible, and visually compelling user experiences.


Responsibilities:

• Design intuitive and visually appealing web application interfaces, applying user-centered design principles and industry best practices.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to visualize ideas and refine design concepts.

• Collaborate with UX researchers to develop test plans and iterate designs based on user feedback.

• Develop detailed UX deliverables such as process flows, storyboards, and high/low fidelity prototypes.

• Produce visual design assets and document styling specifications to guide the development team.

• Ensure consistency across navigation schemes, design components, and templates while maintaining brand standards.

• Work closely with front-end engineers to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.

• Optimize designs for accessibility, scalability, and performance to deliver a seamless user experience.

• Translate usability research findings into actionable design improvements.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions using various tools to explore and refine design solutions.

• Proven experience in UX/UI design, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
• Strong understanding of usability principles and user-centered design methodologies.
• Ability to translate user research findings into effective design strategies.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers and researchers.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and optimizing designs for diverse user needs.
• Excellent communication skills to present and articulate design concepts effectively.
• Knowledge of scalability and performance optimization in web application design.
