We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. We connect students with our mentors for in-person and online programs.

We are Mentor A Promise, a nonprofit organization dedicted to providing social emotional learning, academic support, and mentoring sevices to students experiencing housing challenges and homelessness in NYC. We need an Animator to join our team to support our Podcast Team.

What You Will Do

• Create quality animation using digital tools for our Podcast, Social Media and YouTube Channel
• Receive assigned shots in sequence review with the Podcast Team providing general guidance
• Plan shots with an understanding of story/character context
• Block animation using audio dialog track
• Clearly show performance ideas and shot blocking in MAP's Team review (animation dailies)
• Closely Collaborate with and take direction from MAP's Team
• Implement changes and completely finish shots in accordance with production schedule
• Develop a solid understanding of vital production tools
• Maintain an open and professional demeanor regarding direction, changes and shifting requirements
  
  

Requirements

• A reel that is no more than 2 minutes in length of character animation that illustrates visual storytelling, believable expressions, emotional states, personality, appeal, entertainment, clear timing, weight, physics, balance, and staging
• Proficiency in software for animation
