The Role

Bovitz, Inc. is looking to hire a Junior Designer to work as a part of our Creative Services team. Junior Designers work within a creative team to provide quality visual design of research insights. Designers are a collaborative partner to the research teams, working together to create visually stunning and informative presentations and other deliverables.

A successful Junior Designer must be creative, adaptable, and a self-starter. With our large variety of clients in various industries including Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, Entertainment, and Apparel, no two work weeks are the same. Designers create custom visuals for each project, so creativity and out-of-the-box ideas are encouraged. We strive to not only fulfill our researcher’s visual vision but to truly WOW our clients and inspire them with our insights.

Things You’ll Do

  • Designing/creating reports for the presentation of research results
  • Creating a unique and custom look and feel for every project from scratch or with a client template as a base. Each report is designed for the client’s branding.
  • Learning about different types of research methodologies and visualizing the content/data based on the methodology used and the narrative that the researchers are telling.
  • Reading raw (non-visualized) reports to understand what the project is about and use that as inspiration for the design.
  • Taking data in a blank presentation (raw form) and visualizing it by creating charts/graphs/images, adding icons, and other visual elements to tell the story the research team is trying to portray.
  • Designing/creating proposals for potential new projects
  •  Creating a unique and custom look and feel for every proposal from scratch, with the with the company’s branding/look/feel in mind to win project work. This includes looking at a company’s website and social media to understand their branding.
  • Designing/creating additional creative materials (e.g., posters, booklets, pamphlets, etc.)
  • Consulting with research project teams on design advice & requests
  • Managing updates to the Bovitz website

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience, preferably in a market research capacity

                 Experience visualizing data, with a knowledge of standard chart types

                Capable of storytelling through visuals, iconography and imagery.

                Understanding of research methodologies or a willingness to learn more about them

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Experience in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Google Slides
  • A natural eye for visual design and interest in more formal design training
  • Appreciation for an iterative design process
  • Interest and willingness to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Original thinking, both creatively and critically
  • Adaptability – being able to adapt to changing timelines and roll with the punches
  • Ability to multi-task, often times we work on more than one project at a time.

Nice to Have

  • Appreciation for visual storytelling is a bonus
  • Interest or appreciation for research is a bonus
  • Ability to edit video is a bonus
