About the Organization
Liberty Dogs is a premier service dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs provides. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs.
Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and innovative Creative Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller who can translate our mission into compelling visual content. You will play a crucial role in shaping our brand identity and communicating our impact to a wide audience, including veterans, volunteers, and the general public. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who wants to use their skills for a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Management: Maintain and evolve the organization's visual brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and materials.
- Design & Production: Design and produce a wide range of visual assets, including:
- Marketing Materials: Brochures, flyers, posters, and banners for fundraising events and awareness campaigns.
- Digital Content: Social media graphics, website banners, email newsletter templates, and digital advertisements.
- Print Publications: Annual reports, newsletters, and program guides.
- Merchandise: T-shirt designs, stickers, and other branded merchandise.
- Presentations: Create visually engaging presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and program teams to understand their needs and develop effective design solutions.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are executed to a high standard.
- Photography & Videography (optional but a plus): Assist with or oversee the creation of photographic and video content, including editing and post-production.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external printers, vendors, and contractors as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience (3-5 Years): Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably in a non-profit, cause-driven, or mission-oriented environment. A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects is required.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is a must.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
- Knowledge of web design principles (UX/UI) and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace) is a plus.
