An art model poses for a studio class while students paint or draw. Sessions often require nude modeling. Models may be required to hold props or make specific physical gestures, as students study their form and practice their drawing and painting skills. Session length will vary depending on the class and/or instructor. Art models will be given breaks throughout the session. There is no specific education nor experience requirement for art modeling. Different body types are welcome, as well as genders, ethnicities, and ages. Nude modeling jobs require that models are 18 years of age or older.

Skills and Knowledge

This position is for Art Models for our courses that teach figure drawing. Models are an essential component for these classes to run and for students to gain the experience of drawing the human form. Our faculty are in need of a wider variety of art models than can be provided by student employees. Their classes depend on a degree of experience and flexibility in schedule that can’t always be obtained with student employees.

Responsibilities

  • Models work varying sessions, as scheduled by Model Coordinator
  • Models will pose for sessions as scheduled and as directed by faculty
  • Models must have stamina to hold various poses for the duration of the session.
  • Models are required to remain perfectly still for an extended period
  • TIME REQUIRED: Various hours as scheduled.
