TheGraphic Designer supports marketing efforts across Wilderness Resort’s Wisconsin and Tennessee properties. This role focuses on creating and executing seasonal promotions, group sales marketing, and special events materials, ensuring all designs are on-brand and aligned with business objectives. The position requires strong skills in digital layout, social media content creation, and photography coordination. It involves managing many independent projects while collaborating on select campaigns and cross-departmental initiatives to deliver effective, high-quality marketing solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Collaborate with advertising agencies to maintain creative consistency and support campaign development across all marketing materials, working proactively ahead of each season.
  • Take initiative to support and represent the Sales teams in WI and TN by driving planning and strategy to maximize the impact of their marketing needs, including print materials, media buy coordinating, eblasts, social campaigns, and property-specific design support.
  • Create and execute visual content supporting seasonal resort promotions, managing imagery and image needs lists.
  • Provide graphic support to coordinate seasonal specials and events across Food & Beverage, Attractions, and Activities, including holiday parties.
  • Assist in planning and executing in-house photoshoots, including coordinating props and shot lists.
  • Design social media graphics and support content production aligned with seasonal themes and brand identity.
  • Develop and maintain digital assets including web special designs, other website graphics, and coordinate updates for Visitor Bureau and state tourism webpages for WI and TN.
  • Produce advertisements for print and digital media across Wilderness Resort and affiliated properties.
  • Monitor and maintain rack slots and mobile rack slots for the TN property, ensuring materials are current, visually appealing, and consistently stocked.
  • Prepare and send out internal company newsletter eblasts monthly.
  • Offer design support on an as-needed basis to internal departments for marketing and operational materials.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and expanding brand books for Food & Beverage and Attraction outlets, including occasional logo design for new initiatives.
  • Review and update existing print and digital assets to ensure brand consistency.
  • Prepare files for print production adhering to pre-press standards.
  • Stay current on design trends and best practices in hospitality and tourism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong emphasis on marketing, branding, and multi-platform campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience working across both print and digital formats in a fast-paced, multi-property or multi-brand environment.
  • Portfolio must show strong visual design skills, campaign development, and brand consistency across a range of materials.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a creative or communications field.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; working knowledge of Lightroom, After Effects, or Premiere Pro a plus.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experienced in visual asset creation and photography principles; photoshoot coordination experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, and edit materials aligned with professional and brand standards.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Capable of drafting clear and compelling written content for design purposes, social media, or internal communications.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic math skills including percentages, proportions, and spatial calculations relevant to layout, sizing, and media placement.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot creative challenges and manage competing priorities.
  • Capable of interpreting direction and applying feedback to improve design solutions.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong creative thinking, attention to detail, and commitment to brand integrity.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and self-directed; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to support cross-functional teams (F&B, Attractions, Retail, Guest Services, etc.).
  • Hospitality industry knowledge or experience with resort-based marketing is a strong plus.
  • Occasional travel may be required between properties in Wisconsin and Tennessee.
