Job Overview
The Academy Video Analyst supports coaching and performance departments through high-quality video and data analysis. This role focuses on individual player development and team tactical evolution, aligning with Atlanta United's game model and philosophy. Responsibilities include capturing, analyzing, and presenting insights to enhance player and team growth across multiple age groups. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and innovative in using video and data to support performance.
Video & Performance Analysis
- Film, code, and analyze matches and training sessions for U18s, U16s, U15s, U14s, and U13s.
- Deliver video sessions aligned with the club’s methodology and style of play.
- Create Individual Development Plans (IDPs) with video evidence and trends.
- Develop clear video edits for internal use, opposition analysis, and player education.
- Maintain databases for player metrics and tactical trends.
- Assist coaches with opponent analysis and post-game reviews, including statistical and qualitative feedback.
- Use analysis software (Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Studio, etc.) to code key actions and trends.
- Build and organize a video library for training and matches.
- Provide live in-game support and post-game reports as needed.
Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with the Director of Methodology and coaches to ensure alignment on game model and expectations.
- Collaborate with performance and medical staff to integrate video and physical data insights.
- Support and train staff on analysis tools and platforms.
- Assist in pre-match preparations and opposition analysis.
- Contribute insights in internal meetings.
- Help players interpret video to support development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years in performance analysis or as a video analyst, preferably in a professional or academy soccer setting.
- Proficiency in Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Studio, and similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in sports science, performance analysis, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Strong understanding of soccer tactics and player development demands.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with organizational skills.
- USSF C License (or higher) preferred.
- Language skills (Spanish or others) are a plus.
