Job Description
The Assistant CAD Designer's primary responsibility is to contribute to the overall development of surface designs by assisting the team with organizing, cleaning, and completion of repeats for vintage archival art while meeting deadlines set in the product development calendar. The Assistant CAD Designer should be artistically skilled and bring new ideas and process improvements to the Print Design team. The position will have a focus on assisting the team in organizing, executing, and sending artwork seasonally.
Assist in cleaning CAD designs, prints, borders and layouts for each season:

  • Clean and prepare print and pattern artwork under the direction of the Senior CAD Manager, Surface, Engineered Dresses, RJS, Knit and Woven Tops, & Skirts
  • Rework artwork to put the vintage prints into technical repeat and specific pattern placement.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Design Director, Surface Design, Concept, Color Creation and Trend
Assist with team operations regarding seasonal artwork sending, organization and process improvement:
  • Assist in preparing and saving artwork and PTFs for the Surface Execution team.
  • Assist with seasonal pitch document for cross-functional team reference.
  • Meet all deadlines on the product development calendar that pertain to artwork for prints.
  • Work on innovative ways to streamline and improve departmental processes.
  • Assist with upload of seasonal assets and artwork to Sitecore.
  • Assist with organization and sending of strike off shipments for Plotting.
  • Assist in ordering office supplies and paper as needed.
  • Assist with seasonal copyrights.
  • Maintain updated print walls in KOP studio.
Maintain all activities consistent with the product development calendar, as guided by the Senior CAD Manager, Surface, Engineered Dresses, RJS, Knit and Woven Tops, & Skirts and Design Director, Surface Design, Concept, Color Creation and Trend.
  • Be aware of all important dates and deadlines that the President/CEO distributes in a twelve-month calendar, outlining tasks required by the Print and Pattern Design Department form other duties as may be required.
  • Maintain all activities consistent with the product development calendar.
Qualifications for the Position
  • A four-year college degree is required, preferably with a major/minor within print design, textile design, fashion design or a closely related subject.
  • 1 year of CAD design experience, preferably in the fashion or retail industry
  • The taste level and fashion sense to understand the Lilly Pulitzer® customer and to design fashion merchandise which appeals to the Lilly customer.
  • Must have the artistic and technical skills to assist with the development of prints and patterns. This includes the ability to put prints into technical repeat.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design, especially for print development, with NedGraphics Design and Repeat® and with Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator®, is required. The Assistant CAD Designer must develop fluency in current NedGraphics Design and Repeat® and with Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator® software and all of their capabilities.
  • An aptitude and willingness to learn new applications of Computer Aided Design which may be implemented.
  • Basic personal computer skills, such as Word® and Excel® in a Microsoft Windows® environment, are helpful.
  • The sense of urgency necessary in the fashion industry.

  • This position is classified as full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. This position is eligible for overtime and standard company benefits.
  • This position is required to maintain a structured hybrid work schedule based out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. This hybrid schedule, which includes work done in the King of Prussia Office as well as your Home Office will be determined by your supervisor.
  • The position requires some domestic travel.
  • Given the seasonality of the business, this position may require flexible, additional working hours during peak periods.
